Editorial Emendations

These notes record the emendations in the present edition to the 1887 edition of The Building of the Bridge.  An Idyl of the River Saint John.  In these entries the reading of the present text is given before the square bracket, and the reading of the first edition after the bracket.  Thus, the entry "93 breast.] breast" indicates that in line ninety-three of the present text "breast" has been emended to "breast.".
