Editorial Emendations

These notes record all emendations in the present text to the first edition of The Union of Taste and Science.  Each entry contains the reading of the present text before the square bracket and the reading of the first edition after the bracket.  Thus "198 Phaëton] Phäeton" indicates that in line one hundred and ninety-eight of the poem the word "Phäeton" in the original edition has been emended to "Phaëton" in the present text.
